10 Self-love advantages + 5 Inspirational quotes

How can self-love help you?

I bet, at some point, we all thought about this question! We always hear that self-love is important. Some f us, go even further and say that without self-love we can't love other people. Well, from my experience on observing people, I can tell we can love other people without loving ourselves. But, self-love is also necessary. Why? you may ask. Because without self-love a lot of things can go wrong. How wrong? Let's see!
 - self-confidence and self-love go hand in hand. We all need some self-confidence to succeed in life and we achieve it by simply loving ourselves. No, you are not selfish if you love yourself. You are selfish when you only care about yourself. But when you care about both yourself and others? There is a big difference!
 - when you love yourself you are shining and that's what people are attracted to. Like some birds are attracted to shiny objects, people are attracted to positive human beings. And when you love yourself, you are positive about things around you.
 - loving yourself is a form of respect towards everyone around you and yourself too. When you don't love yourself, you somehow show it. You are inclined not to wear something because you think you are ugly. You are inclined not to do something, because you think you are not good enough. STOP THIS! You are beautiful and good enough! You are more than what others see! You are even more than what you can see!! Start loving yourself and stop disheartening yourself!
 - when you love yourself, you don't pay attention to negative comments. Why? Because you know what you can do, you know who you truly are. Confidence gives us a shield against negative people and their rude comments.
 -  you start to enjoy being yourself. You stop wishing being someone else. You stop wishing being perfect and simply learn that you are your own kind of perfection.
 -  self-love can make you realize your needs. Especially your body needs. When you stop hating your body and start loving it instead, you are ready to eat real food, without being afraid of getting fat. You now know, that you only have one body and you need to take good care of it.
- you are at peace with yourself. I think this is so important to simply be at peace with yourself. Easy to say, but for most of us so hard to obtain, right? All you need is to stop the bad habits: criticizing, fighting, judging, hating yourself, wishing to be perfect... and learn to love yourself and your flaws. You are perfect, my dear, just the way you are.
 - better thoughts, better results. If you think positive, you will have better results in everything you do! The optimism comes from loving yourself, from being at peace with you.
-  when you love yourself, you stop seeking for attention, you stop playing on the mass media's rules. Oh, and for me this feels the best! To be myself, to love myself, to show that no matter my body type I can rock any outfit, I can shine brighter than the sun. I personally love to dress my own way, with just a few tips from the catwalks. I hate and love fashion how it is right now. And to explain this I need to make another post.
 - self-love strengthens us.

The last one resumes all. That's what self-love is about: being strong against the sick society and mass-media. Being powerful enough to say no to the new trends in body types and standards of perfection. Just be you and love your awesome self!

1.“When a woman becomes her own best friend life is easier.”
― Diane Von Furstenberg
2.  “When you're different, sometimes you don't see the millions of people who accept you for what you are. All you notice is the person who doesn't.”
― Jodi Picoult, Change of Heart
3.  “Don’t sacrifice yourself too much, because if you sacrifice too much there’s nothing else you can give and nobody will care for you.”
― Karl Lagerfeld
4“If you celebrate your differentness, the world will, too. It believes exactly what you tell it—through the words you use to describe yourself, the actions you take to care for yourself, and the choices you make to express yourself. Tell the world you are one-of-a-kind creation who came here to experience wonder and spread joy. Expect to be accommodated.”
― Victoria Moran, Lit From Within: Tending Your Soul For Lifelong Beauty
5. “I am so beautiful, sometimes people weep when they see me. And it has nothing to do with what I look like really, it is just that I gave myself the power to say that I am beautiful, and if I could do that, maybe there is hope for them too. And the great divide between the beautiful and the ugly will cease to be. Because we are all what we choose.”
― Margaret Cho
